While loyal ARMYs know every single detail about Jungkook, there is still a lot to learn about the golden boy. In every BTS performance, you cannot miss Jungkook. Why? Aside from his charismatic vibe, he is the leading vocalist and often at the center of dance formations.
Jeon Jungkook, or Jungkook for many, was born on September 1, 1997, in the Southern port city of Busan. He has always wanted to debut as a singer, so he auditioned in the third season of Mnet’s “Super Star K” in 2011. However, he failed to reach the final stage of the show. Little does he know it was nature’s way of telling him that he is bound for greater things. Several agencies tried to recruit him as a trainee at the age of 15. But in the end, he chose to be one of Big Hit Entertainment’s star-in-the-making.
Jungkook as a BTS Member
Big Hit Entertainment included Jungkook as part of a group that it intends to debut. Being a multi-talented performer, he became the main vocalist, lead dancer, and sub rapper. A total package, right? Before his debut, he went to the United States to hone his dancing skills. Jungkook thought of pursuing a career as a professional dancer, but Jimin convinced him to return to the group.
5 Reasons to Love BTS’s Jungkook
Today, you can read many Jungkook facts online and in magazines, but nobody knows him as his real fans do. If Jungkook is your BTS bias, you are in for a big surprise:
Jungkook is the Golden Maknae.
Aside from his stage name “Jungkook,” ARMYs often call him Jungkookie or “The Golden Maknae” because he is the youngest member of the group. The name also stuck since Jungkook pretty much excels in everything he does. He is a multi-talented singer, rapper, dancer, bottle flipper, Piano Tiles player, saxophonist, and Cham Cham Cham player.
He has a studio called the “Golden Closet.”
Jungkook has a unique way of showing his heart to ARMYs and expressing his love for photography and film. Instead of mere words, he chose to do it through a series of travel and vlog-style videos called the Golden Closet Film or GCF. He released his first video last 2017, which featured moments from his trip with co-member Jimin. The recent GCF video featured all BTS members posing for a photoshoot in Helsinki.
Jungkook has covered several songs.
Jungkook has done several song covers on online streams and stage performances. When you search for “Jungkook BTS” on YouTube, his many song covers will pop up. One of his hit song covers is Charlie Puth’s “We Don’t Talk Anymore,” which Puth even recognized on Twitter after hearing it. Jungkook also showcased his smooth vocals with his covers of Paper Hearts by Tori Kelly, Lost Stars by Adam Levine, Nothing Like Us, and Purpose by Justin Bieber.
He does not practice any religion
Jungkook has never mentioned his faith before. But during his high school years, he attended a Christian-based education that holds bible-teaching classes and religious services.
Jungkook has at least six tattoos
ARMYs have been aware of the growing numbers of Jungkook’s tattoo. During the love Yourself: Speak Yourself [The Final] concert, fans could not help but awe at his tattoos on his right hand. From the “ARMY” writing on his hand to the adorable emoji and mysterious skeleton, every piece of ink cannot get past his loyal fans. Jungkook also has a mystery inner-arm tat as shown on BTS’ “ON” music video, and a sleeve tattoo on his right forearm.
